General Aptitude (Common to all papers) Syllabus

General Ability Test consist of two categories topics. Category are Verbal Ability & Numerical Ability. The topics of both category are as following-

Verbal Ability:

For this paper candidates must know that in each subject the topics have been divided into two categories i.e.- Core Topics & Special Topics. All sections of the question paper will contain 90% of their questions in Core Topics and the rest of their questions on Special Topics. Eligibility For GATE Exam:

Candidates should have these qualification to appear in GATE Exam:-GATE Syllabus

  • Candidates Should Posses Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture (4 years aftr 10+2 post B.SC / post Diploma) and candidates may be in final year of such programs.
  • Should possess Master’s degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Application or equivalent and may be in final year of such programs
  • Candidates in the second or higher year of 4 year Master Degree Programs (Post B.Sc) in Engineering Technology.
  • Candidates in the fourth or higher year of 5 year intigrated Master’s Degree Programs or dual degree program in Engineering / Technology.
  • Those candidates who have obtained qualifications through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC / AICTE.
